Quick BT News Interview:

How long have you lived in Brooks Tower? On what floor, and for how long?

I am currently the Vice President of Venue Operations for the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. My role/responsibilities include oversight of all facility spaces. The DCPA owns all units on floors 4, 5, and 6 at Brooks Tower. We use these units to house our artists from across the country. Although I am personally not a resident of Brooks Tower, I have a vested interest in Brooks Tower being a well-maintained and safe space for our artists and guests who stay with us while performing on our stages at the Performing Arts Center complex. We continually attract top talent within the theater industry and an advantage we have as an organization is having living accommodations that provide an experience that keeps that talent coming back to Denver.

What is your long-term vision for Brooks Tower?

My long-term vision is to support the goals of the Executive Board in maintaining Brooks Tower’s long-standing reputation as a premier living community that is located in the heart of downtown Denver. This includes reinvestment into the facility infrastructure to maintain value in the property and investment.

What is an example of one way you've been involved in improving Brooks Tower?

Because I'm a new member of the Executive Board, my time has been very limited. What I can say is that the DCPA has always been very supportive and actively engaged in the activities and decisions at Brooks Tower. We are committed as an organization to do our best to protect the interests of the residents. Additionally, the downtown experience is important to the DCPA. The more people feel save and can enjoy what Denver has to offer, to benefits everyone.

What are the biggest ways you would like to see Brooks Tower improved?

I would like to see a continued effort in modernizing the Brooks Tower systems and experience. Specifically, as it relates to sustainability of the building, compliance with Energize Denver ordinance, and enhancement of amenities. It is important that Brooks Towers evolves and it's reflective of downtown Denver as a lifestyle and experience.

What particular skills do you have that you can bring to the Brooks Tower board?

Managing large facilities in the downtown area (Ball Arena, Paramount Theater, and Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex) has given me a unique perspective of the downtown lifestyle and experience. I will come to the Executive Board with a lot of experience in maintaining large facilities and good relationships with vendors and city leaders. The facilities that I oversee face the same challenges regarding sustainability and energy conservation. As Brooks Tower navigates Energize Denver, I hope to leverage my existing relationships to achieve the aggressive energy targets required through energy ordinance.
